RAILWAY MAINTENANCE

In Gabon, the monitoring of the rail network from Franceville to Libreville, called « The Transgabonais » has been assigned to SETRAG, the operating company of “The Transgabonais”, subsidiary of ERAMET group.

Management optimization of a large-scale line involves various challenges such as operator safety improvements, field visits reduction, internal work processes simplification or automation of repetitive tasks.

SETRAG, aware of those challenges importance looked at imajing technologies in order to deploy a smart solution on its entire network.

The solution which has been chosen is based on two main requirements:
A simple data collection and sharing/publication of the data online.

The images of the network thus collected offer to SETRAG a valuable help and effective tools:

The imajbox® camera is mounted on our measurement vehicle of the track which inspects on an high frequency basis “The Transgabonais ». Thanks to those data, regularly updated, we can do virtual visits of the track, and thus optimize its maintenance and its surroundings.

imajnet® is part of the digital twin of the track that we are currently building: thanks to an availability of the data close to real-time, Setrag improves its decision-making ability for the monitoring of the operational processes of the network. In the long run, those new data allow us to accelerate the modernization of the track and to improve the safety while identifying key portions.
